Clear polymer stamps offer many benefits to red rubber mounted stamps:

  • Precision placement- Using both a clear stamp and acrylic block, you can see exactly where your image will land. This is fantastic for lining up multiple images.
  • Storage- Polymer stamps are naturally tacky and will temporarily cling to an acrylic block for use as a handle. You only need one block for your entire collection of polymer stamps and this saves you money and storage space. Blue Diamond Stamps are packaged in quality hard cases perfect for the storage and indexing of your stamps.
  • Cleaning- Any type of ink can be used with these types of stamps, although dye-based ink is recommended over solvent inks which may stain your stamp. Stamps will clean easily with warm water and mild dish detergent.

Stamping Tips:

  • New stamps usually need to be "conditioned" before use and a breaking-in period is suggested. A fine grit sandpaper or pink eraser can be used to scuff the surface to help it hold ink as it may want to repel it at first. With each use the stamp will improve so it is recommended to do some practice stamping first.
  • Make sure the stamp is well inked in all areas.
  • Decide where you want the stamp to go and carefully set it down. Press down evenly but be careful not to rock it or readjust as this will cause the image to be blurry.
  • Carefully lift the stamp straight up off the surface as any side to side movement may cause a shadow image.
  • Practice, practice, practice! Remember all inks and specific stamps depending upon their size may handle a little differently, so it is best to experiment first before using it on your final project.
